This is the story of a girl who thought she would never break free.
From the chains of circumstance, and sometimes the ones in her own head. Until one day, she did.

Although the song had its initial roots in female-centric writing and subject-matter, it slowly evolved into something far more universal in essence. At its core, it is a song about finding courage within ourselves to escape entrapment or abusive situations, and freeing ourselves from suffering under the grip of bad people or bad circumstances.

“Still got Shoes” is a short but powerful tale about finding courage during the hardest of times and conquering your demons through the realisation that all you really need is yourself. The song was initially written to inspire courage and hope for women in abusive situations, who may think they have no way out. Over a year after its inception, this girl-centric song has morphed into a pop-rock anthem that strikes a chord with almost anyone who listens to it – young or old, feminine or masculine, struggling or thriving.
