This is a song about the moment when you meet your soulmate, in the most unlikely of places, and during the most unexpected of times
This track is an alternative rock masterpiece, with ebbs and flows that keep you hooked right through its seven minute runtime – the longest on the album. “Starface” begins slow, with a cinematic hum that grows into the minimalistic yet powerful poetry, and raw, passionate vocals. The echo of the vocals in a seemingly endless void are almost symbolic of the lonely wanderer venturing through empty streets to destinations unknown. But on this night, fate takes an unexpected turn, and he knows in that moment that nothing will ever be the same again.
The song ends with a majestic drum and guitar solo instrumental, leaving you coming back again and again.
lyrics
-
Tearing through the streets, at 55
Taxi driver, me and a party invite
Chance came along for the ride
some strangers by the day
get stranger by the night
You’ve been standing, smiling asking me
about the places i wanna go
all these dreams i never talk about
and things i don’t yet know
like you
Now its bye bye
all the things i knew
I don’t want to know more faces
they just melt into the same
they’re all busy running races
while i just wanna know my name
There's people going places
and I'm here searching
for some sane
Until you
Now its bye bye, everyone i ever knew
And she glides, from, door to door
Vodka punch table
To old friends on the floor
She's breeding smiles
it's all so swell
And then she glides to me
and asks, are you feeling well
